Discover Middle Earth on our flagship flight, where the sheer scale of nature will leave you in awe. Departing from Glenorchy, we soar over an expansive high-country station, tracing winding rivers and vast valleys that stretch endlessly beneath us.

As we approach the towering presence of Mt Earnslaw, its jagged peaks and dramatic cliffs rise to dominate the skyline, making even the helicopter feel small in comparison. Experience a breathtaking close-range flyover of the immense “hanging” Earnslaw Glacier, its ancient ice suspended high above the valley floor.

Finally, we descend into the vast lower basin, where the towering walls of rock and ice surround you, making you feel like a mere speck in this raw, untouched wilderness.

If one landing isn’t enough, upgrade your flight and add on a second landing!

Alpine Landing – enjoy panoramic views of the Dart River and Lake Whakatipu.

Please take note that during the winter months the Earnslaw Burn does not have as many fast flowing waterfalls compared to the spring/summer/autumn months. It is still a stunning and magical location even in the winter months however we would like you to be aware of this.
